It may seem like you are spending a lot of gold on them, but the stronger you are and faster you kill, the less damage you take and need to heal. It's kind of a mixed bag.Įnemies target with their AoE at random, so your taunt doesn't have to be in the middle, but if they do choose to hit in the middle, that would make everyone involved take the least amount of AoE damage if he was there, yes. Certain dungeons are always certain levels though. I am not entirely sure how the enemy scaling is though, I think it's a combination of scaling to your party and the day modifier. If you can kill one enemy on turn 1 with all your characters attacking, you mitigate so much potential damage, especially if it's a very damaging or debuff-heavy enemy you focus.Įvery day that goes by, everything gets more expensive. If you are using a lot of Godsbeard per fight, you are just not doing enough damage and thus taking a lot yourself. This isn't necessary or anything for Journeyman or lower if you don't like playing that way with those classes, it just makes it easier. Pair this with the reset weapons and you can lock the enemies out of even getting a turn at all. Speed is very important because you not only go first but you get more turns than enemies. In your case specifically, although the Mindbreaker camp is lvl 6, (if my memory serves me) there are a handful of side-quests of a lower level that you can choose to accomplish before tackling the camp, as well as (if you're lucky) a few mini-dungeons along the way.Īll team comps work if you aren't doing Master, but Hunter, Scholar, Minstrel or even Hobo are the better choices because they have more speed than the other classes. One other tip I've seen floating around is to always take the Chaos-reducing quest, as you get roughly the same amount of gold for it than if you take the gold quest, item is rarely worth more/better than the gold, or any other loot you find along the way. This is where I struggled the most, in finding the balance between leveling up my party at a decent clip while not allowing too much time to pass to let the game outpace me. I often spend a few minutes every 5 turns or so to map out what story points I want to hit next, and get a rough idea of how many battles I want to get into on the way. Think of movement across the map, and the time it takes, as a resource as well. (I'm no expert at this game, so take my advice with a grain of salt)Though apprentice is more forgiving, I find the game heavily relies on being as optimal with your resources as possible - having a healer that can use a godsbeard during combat to basically get 3x use out of it is a particularly helpful one off the top of my head.
